Mr. Rewrite usually doesn't go after civilians, but this sign was too close to a school to ignore.
Let's suppose there's a German influence here (house = haus in Deutsch). It clearly isn't the case, but work with Mr. Rewrite on this. Even then, "hauses" wouldn't be correct. The plural would be "hauser," with two dots -- whatever that is -- over the A.
